The steps of a good man | Navigating Virtue and Purpose

Image
Navigating the Virtue and Purpose of our life is illuminated by integrity, compassion and resilience. This path belongs to a good man - a seeker of truth, a steward of kindness, and a guardian of a noble ideals. Being a Christian means following God's commands. You're already referred to as a " good guy " when you put your faith in Him. You are not good and free from all mistakes, however. Being good means being the person God wants you to be. Our hearts are where it all begins, our thoughts and actions are influenced by our heart's desire. No one can see the intentions of our hearts the way God sees them. And, in that regard, man's position before a Holy God is in total darkness if not reflected in the light of God's standard. As the man journeys through the labyrinth of life and chose to follow the light, the path that a man walks on leaves an indelible mark on the world, shaping destinies and inspiring others to follow.  Being 'good' in the ey...

How to avoid failure in Life

Image
Depart from evil, and do good; Psalm 37:27a This is a straightforward command we can read from the very word of David, the psalmist, who wrote these words found in the book of Psalms chapter 37. Looking at this 27th verse, King David pointed out a direct command for us to avoid failure in life.  Depart from Evil  What's in it? And what are the things we can consider Evil? That we have to depart from it. The next command is a positive one, which is the opposite direction of the one we have to avoid. What's in it, How to Avoid Failure? This will reveal the path we are headed. If you are walking on a journey, there are two directions. The first one is the evil direction and the other is the good direction. We can say that as a person created by God, there are two distinct directions we are in, it's either the "evil way" or the "good way". Why does it seem to show that, by default, our direction is going evilly? It is evident how King David emphasizes the...

Be still

Image
In a very busy world, the world was suddenly put into a halt following what just happened that shocked everyone. The Global Pandemic of 2019! Be Still  This is the very word spoken by God to Moses when they are at the end of a scape route from Egypt, where they are pursued after setting them free. This is one of the most death defying scene if you are watching an adventure movie, where life and death situation is into play. As it relates to the Global Pandemic, the world was placed in a situation no one can do anything but to stay home and lock ourselves inside our house.  Why is it necessary to BE STILL? This is the irony of having someone to rely on. Where faith is much more required. It is an in-between scenario where you cannot step backwards neither move forward. There’s nothing we can do except to worry or trust.  As it was clearly told, Moses heard the voice of God telling him and the Israelites to BE STILL.  Moses heard it clearly and told the people w...

Redeeming the time

Image
What time is it? Redeem The Time? Regardless of what time it is, there are still a lot of things to do. You have been busy all day, but something is not right. Yup, you want to move, but you can’t. More so you can’t move back. What was lost, you can never turn back the time.  What does Redeeming the time mean? “Redeem” means to get back. I thought you could never get back what was lost? Yes, it is, what it says is the time that is in you and the time onwards, make as much as you can because what you have lost are those you cannot count on especially when it comes to what the Lord wants you to do.  Imagine those days when you don’t know Him. What kind of life did you live? Did it ever occur to you that day that you have thought of Him? Maybe yes or mostly not.  Are those days good?  How I wish we could turn back the time and make the most out of it. Anything done without the Lord is considered “ days of evil”.  As it is written, “ no one is righteous...

Pressing on

Image
The prize of a High Calling  Do you know what is your call?  Having this in mind and knowing God who called you is faithful, what would be your attitude towards that call? It is not just an ordinary call, but it is a High calling of God! No matter how hard you fall, you just have to keep pressing on.  What is God’s call? There are some of the things in the bible where we can see God calling people. We can see different context of God’s call.  1. God’s call for all people 2. God’s call for repentance 3. God’s call for work  4. God’s call for holiness 5. God’s call for a specific task These are some of the few relevant topics to God’s call. Let’s explore them one by one with some biblical references.  1. God’s call for all people  God is our creator and He is the Almighty God. As we draw near to the study of God (Theology), we can pinpoint that among all of the world’s view of God, it will all go down into One God. The almighty, our Father i...

God answers prayers

Image
We give Praise to God for answering our prayers  Every day, as We face a new day, do we see our prayers answered? We may or may not recognize it, but the truth is God answers prayers!  Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive,  and your joy will be complete. John 16:24  What a wonderful experience to see God replying to our request. Isn’t it amazing to know God is actively involved in our life? We can communicate with Him, and He communicates with us. Asking God God has promised us, which gives so much assurance to us that He will answer. In our verse, Jesus Christ is making that statement to ask in “His name”, and that reassures us even more in His opening statement, “Until now you have not asked anything”. Let’s pause and think of these words. For what purpose is He making this promise? That our joy may be complete! We heard it right from the very mouth of our Lord Jesus Christ, giving us the full assurance that He cares...

Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His Might

Image
God’s command with an assurance Paul tells us to “Be strong in the Lord” addressed to all those who have experienced all kinds of trials and testing of their faith. Not only that but also to depend our strength in “the power of His might” This tells us that our inner strength is coming from the Lord. Let’s explore what this means and how can we apply this in our life There’a a lot of areas in our lives that needs strengthening. The more we go closer  and grow in the knowledge of God, the more we feel the pressure of dependencies. Why is it so?  In terms of Leadership Sooner or later you will grow. As you grow, your responsibility grows as well. And that can be a call to Christian Leadership. All of us will have it’s place in leadership. As Paul says: “some are called to be apostles, pastors and teachers…”  As that responsibility grows, there are more pressures that will test the kind of leadership you possess. There are a lot of circumstances that your leader...
